PLEASE HELPAge early 1800's ? Hand cast pinned pommel (brass). Bone or Ivory handle W/diamond checked hand carved pattern beautiful golden patina. The 7.25" blade folded into the handle with spring steel lock. When closed is 4" blade exposed. Has a hand cast brass dime sized paddle when flipped and pressed the blade is released to flip open to full 7.25" length. The blade is only .75" wide by 1/8" thick. This leads me to believe was made for dual purpose hunting and personal protection. Everything on this knife is to me obviously hand made and assembled. There is a small etched dove/swallow/falcon type mark @ base of blade. This is not stamped! Very even and no evidence of displaced metal as with a stamp. Not as deep as well as other stamped blades I've seen. Submit your estimate of worth |
