PLEASE HELPI acquired this in the early 1970s. I stripped it (including the metal) and refinished the (maple?) wood. The cast-iron and machined-steel base reads, "MILWAUKEE CHAIR CO PAT. OCT 20, 1914" It's in amazing condition: fully functioning adjustments (height, backrest tension, travel, and height), and the wood looks great. There a three minor nicks in the seat, but it's otherwise smooth and beautiful. The original hard-rubber casters show their age and use, and there remain hidden traces of the 70's vintage blue and green paint I removed. Whatever information anyone has would be of interest! Wow, cool chair! Its in amazing condition for its age. The cheap office chairs they sell now sometimes last only a couple of years before they fall apart. Yours is almost 100 years old and looks like new! I don't see a huge demand for antique office furniture, but it still has value. I would say your 1914 Milwaukee Chair Co. chair is worth around $85-125 dollars. |
